Hospital Nacional
The Hospital Nacional, Panama City
http://www.hospitalnacional.com/
Panama City is home to the National Hospital, with around 160 doctors offering medical treatment for a diverse range of conditions including obstetrics, emergency services, paediatric care, and laboratory testing. The hospital is everything you would expect from a US hospital, with highly qualified staff, professionalism, and patient care. Doctors at this facility have contributed research papers to academic peer-reviewed journals and regularly take part in international conferences on medical research. What is missing from their website and promotional literature is any mention, seemingly, of the use of stem cells in the hospital.
Although presented as an option for stem cell treatment by various medical tourism websites, it appears that it is entirely up to each individual patient to contact the Hospital Nacional in order to find out if stem cell treatment is available for their condition. At the time of writing there are currently no direct reports of patients having undergone treatment here using stem cells, and no claims made of such therapy by the hospital.
The clinic was founded in 1973, with just ten beds available and initially specializing in gynaecology and obstetrics. It has now expanded and has 33 private rooms, 28 semi-private rooms, and a number of other suites, VIP suites, intensive care beds, and paediatric facilities including a neonatal intensive care unit. Healthcare services are offered to those who are US Veterans, and those in the Tricare programs. Both emergency, and elective surgery is offered, along with testing services, and numerous therapies.
