This stem cell treatment clinic in Irapuato claims significant success in treating arthritis, blood disorders, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver disease, neurological conditions and spinal cord injury. It also, rather worryingly claims to treat both HIV and the broad category of ‘Aging’. The clinic does take pains to point out that procedures are still considered experimental for the majority of these conditions but then goes on to state that cord blood stem cells are considered an acceptable alternative to bone marrow transplant.
This clinic offers a unique procedure called Ozone Stem Cell Therapy, which has, as of yet, had no clinical trials conducted to assess either its safety or efficacy. Although they have three clinics in Mexico, only the Irapuato center offers the Ozone Therapy, which also includes gene reprogramming, regenerative growth factors, and stem cell implantation. These treatment modalities are untested and unproven and patients should apply extreme caution when considering these experimental therapies.
Ozone therapy claims to purify blood toxins, although ozone is potentially toxic to cells through oxidation and, therefore, represents a possible threat to healthy cells. The clinic claims that the therapy can kill bacteria, fungi, mold, parasites, and even tumors, and makes the body better able to accept and enhance implanted stem cells. The ozone, after losing an oxygen atom and reverting from O3 to O2, is then claimed to oxygenate the cells, which gives it an anti-ageing potential, and anti-carcinogenic application. Patients should be extremely cautious when considering treatment using these, largely unfounded, treatments.
The Irapuato clinic also offer financial aid, with loans from $1000-50,000. They have, as yet, published no results supporting the safety or effectiveness of their treatments as claimed on the website and in promotional literature, and they, like all Mexican stem cell clinics, remain unregulated in their use of this therapy.
